Bob McKenty had been invited by Major League Baseball each year to read his light verse at the Hall of Fame. He wrote: "I was in Cooperstown for the "last" Hall of Fame Game (it was rained out), but I no longer do recitations there. Last year they discontinued book signings, and their "Sandlot Stories," the banner under which I recited before I had a book. It was fun while it lasted (eight years; nine appearances)."
